Bassitt has excelled at limiting hard contact throughout his career, and that was certainly the case in 2025 as he ranked in the 85th percentile in average exit velocity and 80th percentile in hard-hit rate. He still has decent strikeout stuff with an 8.8 K/9 as he continues to utilize an eight-pitch arsenal, but batters hit .297 against his sinker, which at 41.9 percent was the only offering he utilized more than 17 percent of the time. The veteran right-hander was still an effective starter with a 3.96 ERA across 170.1 innings, but a 1.33 WHIP is less appealing, and he worked out of the bullpen in the ALCS and World Series after missing the ALDS due to a back issue. Bassitt is back on the open market after a successful three-year run with Toronto that saw him post a 3.89 ERA while making at least 31 starts in each season. His fantasy ceiling is a bit limited as he enters his age-37 season, but Bassitt should be able to land somewhere this winter as a back-end starter and provide some value as depth starter for fantasy managers.
