After missing most of the second half on Saturday against BYU with leg cramps, Peterson managed to play a season-high 35 minutes Monday night and led the Jayhawks with 19 points as they secured the huge road conference victory. The freshman blue-chipper had his least-efficient shooting performance of the season but flipped the script late and demonstrated why he's considered to be a top pick in next season's NBA draft, beating a double team by draining a late three to tie the game, then connecting on a 26-footer with 44-seconds remaining to provide the winning margin and complete the comeback for the Jayhawks. After missing nine games during the non-conference slate, Peterson has played in eight of nine conference games, during which he's averaging 22.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 0.5 blocks while shooting 47.9-percent from the floor and 43.6-percent from downtown.
