Shapen completed 26 of 34 passes for 270 yards, one touchdown and one interception during Saturday's 34-17 victory versus Southern Miss. He also had six rushes for five yards.

Shapen completed 76.4 percent of his passes during the season-opener en route to a victory. The senior quarterback was limited to just four games after going down with a shoulder injury during the 2024 season and will aim to bounce back in a major way. His next game will be against Arizona State on Saturday.
