Jameson Geers News: Scores in season opener

Geers accrued four receptions (on seven targets) for 38 yards and one touchdown during Thursday's 23-10 victory against Buffalo.

Geers connected with quarterback Drake Lindsey on a nine-yard scoring strike in the first quarter to get the scoring started for the Golden Gophers. The 6-foot-5 tight end tied for the team lead in receptions on the day, catching four of his seven targets against the Bulls. Though he totaled just 38 yards, the volume is encouraging to see and may give Geers the opportunity to prove his fantasy-relevance. A matchup against FCS Northwestern State awaits on Saturday.
