Matt Smith News: Transfers to Sam Houston

Smith (undisclosed) will transfer to Sam Houston, per Sports of SHSU.

Smith spent the 2025 season with Rhode Island, where he caught three passes for 13 yards and one touchdown. He'll join the Bearkats with one season of eligibility remaining, and the 6-foot-5, 245-pound tight end will look to make an instant impact in Sam Houston's offense.
