Xavier Williams News: Breakout day in opener

Williams recorded 11 rushes for 122 yards and one touchdown and caught their only target for three yards during Saturday's 34-7 victory over Albany.

Williams was a surprise producer for the Hawkeyes on Saturday, crossing the century mark in his first career game on over 11 yards per attempt, leading the Hawkeyes in rushing yards on the day. The 5-foot-10 running back found the end zone on a three-yard run in the second quarter, giving Iowa their first touchdown of the season. The redshirt freshman will look to continue his positive momentum when the Hawkeyes battle for the CyHawk Trophy against rival Iowa State on Saturday.
