DeShields ended up producing solid output even in the loss to the Red Raiders, with two total touchdowns and a couple less passing yards than last week. The redshirt freshman still split snaps with quarterback CJ Montes, but DeShields was on the field more and ended up playing much better. It's unknown what approach quarterback-wise the Golden Flashes will utilize next week in the team's conference opener against Buffalo.
