Looks slated for debut Saturday
Stewart (foot) is in line to make his season debut Saturday versus Vanderbilt, Evan G. Watkins of 247Sports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Stewart has taken all of the steps to make his debut for the Hokies after sitting out the opener due to injury. He's viewed as a candidate to handle the lead role and was listed as a co-starter alongside Marcellous Hawkins on the initial depth chart. He'll get his first taste of action on a power-conference squad Saturday after posting a big pair of seasons the last two years at Bowling Green.

2022 Fantasy Outlook
Heading into his third season with Bowling Green, Stewart appears primed to carry the lead role at halfback for the Falcons. In 2021, backfield mate Nick Mosely outpaced him in carries, but this can be attributed to Stewart missing three games early in the season. The Falcons still like to disperse their touches, but it shouldn’t be a true backfield-by-committee in Bowling Green — Stewart should see at least the majority of the carries. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Bowling Green lean on their rushing attack either, as returning starting quarterback Matt McDonald has been solid but far from efficient. In 2021, McDonald threw for 2555 yards, 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions on 60.1% completion. Not exactly numbers you want to build your offense around.
