The Titans signed Mims to the practice squad Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Mims finished the preseason with 28 carries for 98 yards and six catches on as many targets for 33 yards, but he wasn't able to crack the Titans' 53-man roster Tuesday. He'll stay in Tennessee as a part of the team's practice squad, and he could be elevated to the active roster for the Titans' Week 1 contest against the Broncos if Kalel Mullings (ankle) is unable to play.

Mims has a golden opportunity to secure a roster spot in 2024 following Kendre Miller's hamstring injury, according to Bob Rose of SI.com.

Mims spent most of the 2023 season on the Saints' practice squad after going undrafted out of Fresno State, but he dressed for two games with the team. Miller had more pre-draft pedigree as a 2023 third-round draft pick, but he missed nine games due to injuries last year and got hurt again just as the Saints began training camp in 2024. If Miller's injuries continue to limit his availability, Mims could sneak onto the 53-man roster as the third healthy running back behind veterans Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams.
