2025 Fantasy Outlook
Prosvetov got his first taste of NHL action mere weeks after turning 22, but it didn't work out, as he posted a 3.70 GAA and an .881 save percentage in 24 NHL regular-season appearances across four campaigns from 2020-21 through 2023-24. After those difficulties, Prosvetov moved to the KHL's CSKA Moscow and breathed new life into his career by recording a 20-16-2 record, 2.32 GAA and .920 save percentage during the 2024-25 regular season. That convinced Calgary to ink him to a one-year deal over the summer, but the red carpet isn't being rolled out. He'll need to best Devin Cooley during training camp to earn an Opening Night spot, and even then, Prosvetov would be entering the season as Dustin Wolf's understudy. The 26-year-old is an interesting case to monitor, but it's not advisable to draft him in standard fantasy leagues. Read Past Outlooks

Coming back to North America
Prosvetov signed a one-year, $950,000 contract with the Flames on Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Prosvetov spent 2024-25 with CSKA Moscow of the KHL, earning a 20-16-2 record with a 2.32 GAA and a .920 save percentage in 38 regular-season outings. He went 2-3 in five playoff contests. Prosvetov has had limited success at the NHL level, but he turned a corner with a .921 save percentage over 21 games with AHL Colorado during the 2023-24 regular season. He'll be in contention for the backup goalie job in Calgary during training camp, though neither Prosvetov nor Devin Cooley should be expected to get much playing time behind Dustin Wolf.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Projected starter Wednesday
Prosvetov manned the starter's net during the morning skate, per Evan Rawal of Colorado Hockey Now, which might indicate that he'll be in goal for Wednesday's home game against Buffalo.
ANALYSIS
Prosvetov has a 3-2-1 record, 2.75 GAA and .912 save percentage in eight contests this season. He stopped the 11 shots he faced in relief of Alexandar Georgiev during Monday's 6-5 victory over Calgary. Georgiev has struggled in 2023-24, posting a 3.00 GAA and an .896 save percentage in 23 outings, so there might be an opportunity here for Prosvetov to play a bigger role going forward. Buffalo is tied for 24th offensively this year with 2.90 goals per game.
