2025 Fantasy Outlook
After some heroics in the 2024 playoffs, Silovs wasn't able to replicate that success to begin the 2024-25 regular season. He started the year 1-4-1 and lost his spot on the NHL roster in December, coming up again only as an injury replacement. Silovs still showed some skill in the AHL, going 14-5-1 with a 2.41 GAA and a .908 save percentage over 21 appearances, but his 3.65 GAA and .861 save percentage over 10 NHL games is a concern. Realistically, Silovs won't be seeing much NHL time when both Thatcher Demko and Kevin Lankinen are healthy, but Demko's long injury history could afford Silovs more chances than the average organizational No. 3 goalie would get. Faces high volume in loss
Silovs stopped 28 of 31 shots on goal in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Senators.
ANALYSIS
Silovs put together a solid performance through the first two periods, as he allowed just one goal, before the Senators struck the back of the net twice in the third to steal the win. Following Monday's loss, the 24-year-old Silovs now holds a 10-7-8 record, a 2.97 GAA and an .893 save percentage across 25 outings this season. Monday's loss snapped his two-game win streak, where he played a solid part in the Penguins' run of six consecutive wins to wrap up their January slate. While Stuart Skinner has caught fire and holds the larger share of the workload in net, Silovs remains a solid spot start in deep fantasy leagues when he's called upon.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Silovs was pressed into playoff duty last season when both Thatcher Demko and Casey DeSmith went down with injuries. After playing just four regular-season games, Silovs went 5-5 with a 2.91 GAA, .898 save percentage and one shutout in 10 playoff games. DeSmith is now in Dallas, so the No. 2 spot is Silov's to start 2024-25. The Orcas need to figure out how to manage Thatcher Demko's workload more effectively, and that means Silovs could see close to 30 starts. Don't be turned off by the occasional erratic game - he's just 23. His game is on the rise.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
May start again Thursday
Silovs could be named the starter for Thursday's home opener against the Islanders, Josh Yohe of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Silovs was a bit of a surprise starter versus the Rangers on Tuesday, getting the nod ahead of Tristan Jarry, but impressed with a 25-save, shutout performance in his debut for the Penguins. With that performance fresh on the mind of head coach Dan Muse, it seems likely the 24-year-old Silovs will get another look Thursday. It's a trend that will likely continue all season, with the hot hand getting the nod.
