2025 Fantasy Outlook
Going from an established and veteran team to a younger club trying to find its identity took a toll on Ullmark's numbers in 2024-25. His first year with the Senators saw him miss over a month with a back injury, but when healthy, he posted a 25-14-3 record with a 2.72 GAA and a .909 save percentage over 44 appearances. That injury kept him from truly taking on a full starter's workload -- he started plenty when available but didn't set a career high in games played. Ullmark is a strong goalie, and the Senators are trending upward after making the playoffs. The team's defense has an established core but still needs some work to make it more stable, especially on the third pairing. Ullmark is a mostly low-maintenance goalie for fantasy who should continue to provde strong numbers. Read Past Outlooks
Hangs on for win
Ullmark stopped 14 of 16 shots on net in Monday's 3-2 win over the Penguins.
ANALYSIS
Despite allowing the lone goal of the first period, Ullmark responded well and held up in net while Ottawa's offense came to life in the third period. With the win, the 32-year-old netminder now has a 16-8-5 record, a 2.86 GAA and an .884 save percentage across 30 appearances this season. He has won back-to-back games since his return to the lineup and has provided a stint of stability to Ottawa's crease, which has been volatile for the majority of the season. He should command the bulk of the workload moving forward, making him the lone goaltending option in Ottawa to roster in fantasy. The Senators have the second half of a back-to-back Tuesday, which could see James Reimer make the road start versus the Hurricanes if the team doesn't want Ullmark starting consecutive days after being out of action for a month.

There were many who thought that the team made Ullmark over the last couple of seasons, but it was the other way around in both 2022-23 and 2023-24. The veteran won the Vezina two seasons ago on the back of an epic 40-6-1 record, 1.89 GAA and .938 save percentage. Ullmark backed that up with a 22-10-7 record in 39 starts last season, and his .915 save percentage and 2.57 GAA were seventh and ninth, respectively, in the NHL. Ullmark is a star goalie who'll be underrated on draft day with his move to Ottawa. His GSAx (goals saved above average) was third-best in the NHL in 2022-23 (38.21) and eighth-best in 2023-24 (21.62), which means Ullmark is one of the NHL's best goalies because he saves the most high-quality starts. He's not in the top-five goalies, but he could certainly be top-10 this year.
