2025 Fantasy Outlook
Fehervary is a defensive defenseman who will chip in a bit offensively. He had five goals, 25 points, a plus-18 rating, 25 PIM, 76 shots, 139 hits and 150 blocks across 81 regular-season outings with Washington in 2024-25. However, he ended up missing the Capitals’ final game of the regular season as well as their entire playoff run after undergoing knee surgery in April. It’s not clear how much his recovery will impact his summer training or if he’ll be 100 percent in time for training camp, which is a risk to consider. However, if he’s healthy, Fehervary should be a good source of hits and blocks. He might even do significantly better in the hits department than in 2024-25 -- he surpassed the 175-mark in each campaign from 2021-22 through 2023-24. Just don’t expect offensive growth from the 25-year-old (26 on Oct. 6). Read Past Outlooks
Pots goal in Monday's win
Fehervary scored a goal, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Monday's 4-1 win over the Islanders.
ANALYSIS
Fehervary tied the game at 1-1 with his goal at 5:29 of the second period. The 26-year-old defenseman missed Saturday's game versus the Hurricanes as he became a father, and he capitalized on the newfound dad strength to snap a 20-game goal drought. For the season, he has produced four goals, 20 points, 59 shots on net, 64 hits, 117 blocked shots, 23 PIM and a plus-10 rating over 56 appearances in a shutdown role.

Fehervary doesn't score much, but he was unquestionably Washington's second-most important defenseman a season ago behind John Carlson. Fehervary missed about a month beginning in late February with a lower-body injury but was otherwise healthy. He appeared in 66 regular-season games, posting three goals, 16 points, 188 hits and 209 blocks. The hit/block totals are intriguing, and would theoretically give Fehervary value in deeper leagues that value such numbers. Still, the Caps added both Jakob Chychrun and Matt Roy to their defensive corps this offseason, meaning Fehervary is a prime candidate for a role reduction.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Dealing with knee inflammation
Fehervary, who underwent knee surgery in April, recently told media members in Slovakia that he's still dealing with inflammation but expects to be ready for the start of the 2025-26 season, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Fehervary had surgery April 21 to repair his meniscus and wasn't available for the entirety of the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs as a result. Silber noted that the left-shot defenseman hasn't been able to progress to skating as soon as he had hoped, so the Capitals will likely be extremely cautious with his recovery considering they signed Fehervary to a seven-year, $42 million contract extension in July. If the 25-year-old isn't ready for the start of the campaign, Declan Chisholm, who penned a two-year, $3.2 million deal with Washington in June, will almost certainly fill a third-pairing role until Fehervary returns to full strength.
