We have a gigantic sample size that tells us Brundage's striking isn't the strength of his game. He actually did better on the feet in the early going of this one than most would have predicted, but it ended up not being enough. Cody attempted just one takedown, which failed. Rowston eventually picked up the pace in Round 2, and as we have seen countless times in the past, Brundage wilted. Dating back to December 22, Cody is 3-6 (1NC) in his past 10 fights. The fight ended early in the third round after an accidental clash of heads led to Abdul-Malik being initially declared the winner, and despite replays showing the head butt, which caused Brundage's fall, the referee opted against a no-contest and sent it to the scorecards, where Abdul-Malik won by technical decision.
