Grapples way to decision win
Lui defeated Sulang Rangbo via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC 325 on Saturday in Sydney, Australia.
ANALYSIS
Lui, as the far inferior striker, did what he had to in order to win here. He absorbed a bunch of damage in the early going but managed to survive. His durability served to tire Rangbo out quickly, allowing Lui to get to his wrestling. His top game was severely underwhelming considering he landed seven takedowns, but if nothing else, it limited Rangbo's ability to beat him up on the feet. Already 29 years old and having never faced quality competition, Lui's upside appears quite limited, although he is getting elite training every single day with the crew at City Kickboxing.
