Swept on scorecards in Sydney
LightweightUFC
January 31, 2026
Kim lost to Dom Mar Fan via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC 325 on Saturday in Sydney, Australia.
ANALYSIS
Entering as a +135 underdog, Kim tried to get his wrestling game going against Fan and was never able to do so. He landed just 1-of-10 takedown attempts, although he still did manage to rack up 5:30 worth of control time. The fact he was swept on the scorecards despite the fact he managed a round-plus of the positional advantage tells you all you need to know about Kim's striking performance. He likely will have to go back to the regional scene before earning a full-time UFC opportunity.

Another shot at UFC roster
LightweightUFC
January 1, 2026
Kim will take on Dom Mar Fan in the Road to the UFC 4 Final at lightweight at UFC 325 on Jan. 31, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Kim had previously competed under Angel's Fighting Championship in east Asia before getting a shot on the show in 2023, where he fell to current UFC fighter Rong Zhu. In his second chance in 2025, he picked up two second-round stoppage wins, one by KO/TKO and another via submission. He'll be giving up four inches in reach to the younger Mar Fan, who won both of his fights on the show via decision.
