Scott Pianowski and Jeff Erickson both nailed their conference championship picks last week while Nick Whalen (AFC) and Mario Puig (NFC) split.

Pianowski improved to 8-4 in the playoffs. Puig is one game behind at 7-5, but both pickers went with the Patriots in the Super Bowl, meaning Pianowski clinched the postseason Staff Picks title.

That makes it a season sweep for Pianowski, who also won the regular-season crown.

The Patriots were close to a unanimous pick this week — Erickson stands alone with the Seahawks -4.5.

WRITERCOMMENT
EricksonThe Seahawks are superb at limiting explosive plays, and as the game progresses I expect them to tighten the vise against Drake Maye, who has been sacked 15 times in the playoffs. The nagging doubt for me is whether the Patriots' defense really has stepped up to the degree that it has in the playoffs? The Pats defeated three flawed playoff opponents — this will be the best offense that they've  faced. But if they've gone from a decent defense to an elite defense, then my projection will be in error. My score: SEA 31, NE 13. Favorite prop: Drake Maye's longest completion under 33.5 yards.
PianowskiSeattle is the better team, but New England can win. The Patriots defense is a completely different outfit when DT Milton Williams is playing.
WhalenThis is a tricky number, and it certainly feels like the Seahawks are playing better heading into the Super Bowl, but I have a lot of respect for the Pats' defense, and I think we see a better version of the New England offense after playing three consecutive ugly games — two of which were significantly impacted by weather conditions.
PayneThe Seattle defense will be tough for Drake Maye and the Pats, but Sam Darnold, despite a great game in the NFC championship, could cough it up a time or two, which should keep New England in it just enough that it costs the Seahawks the cover. Also like the under. And here's a prop for fun: Cooper Kupp to score a TD (+260).
PuigThe side that avoids turnovers wins, and both sides need to be careful as far as that goes. The matchups between these two teams tend to be strength vs. strength until the quarterback question.
