As a result, the 24-year-old will be the team's most experienced starting cornerback despite struggling frequently in 2023 as the de-facto top option, when he logged 63 tackles and two picks in 17 regular-season contests. A Jim Harbaugh-led defense has typically been successful in the NFL, but it'll be interesting to see if Samuel's abilities at corner will prove up to the task.
