2025 Fantasy Outlook
After a shockingly dominant start to his career in 2023, the third-round pick put up nearly identical numbers last season: 62 tackles, including 7.5 sacks, a pass defense and a forced fumble. Young was aided by Jared Verse stepping in alongside him to provide a two-headed monster at outside linebacker that kept opposing quarterbacks on their toes on every snap. The Rams spent a third-round pick on Josaiah Stewart to solidify the depth chart behind the talented duo, and Young should continue to act as a pillar on defense for the Rams in Year 3. Sack leader for Rams in 2025
Young (knee) finished the 2025 regular season with 82 tackles (45 solo), including 12.0 sacks, and one forced fumble across 17 games.
ANALYSIS
Young was a dominant force on the Rams defense to start the year, logging 9.0 sacks through the first seven games of the campaign. His sack production dipped noticeably following a Week 8 bye, which may have been due to a knee injury that he was playing through since November, including in each of Los Angeles' three playoff games. Head coach Sean McVay relayed Monday that Young may not need surgery to clean out his knee, and the latter should be ready for the Rams' offseason program, per Adam Grosbard of The Orange County Register.

2023
The Rams were able to find elite talent in the third round of the 2023 Draft with Young, who stepped into a starting role and produced a solid 61 tackles, 8.0 sacks and two forced fumbles while starting all 17 games for a young Rams defense. He'll have a new face alongside him at outside linebacker, as L.A. used its first-round pick on Jared Verse, who should be helpful addressing the pass rush after Aaron Donald's retirement. Expect Young to be one of the core pieces of the Rams defense along with LB Ernest Jones and DL Kobie Turner.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Not certain to get extension
Young might not be a player the Rams have salary cap room to give a contract extension to, Dan Graziano of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The Rams have some tough decisions coming up. Puka Nacua is also eligible for a contract extension this offseason, and he'll get a deal near the top of the wide receiver market, if not reset it. Matthew Stafford will also need a new contract if he decides to play in 2026. On top of that, Young's fellow edge rushers Jared Verse and Braden Fiske will be eligible for extensions next offseason, and the team may not feel it can devote that much cap space to the position by locking up all three. Young recorded a career-high 12.0 sacks during the regular season in 2025, and if the Rams determine he's the odd man out, he would likely bring back a significant return in a trade.
