Moved to reserve/PUP list
The Saints placed Moreau (knee) on the reserve/PUP list Tuesday, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.
ANALYSIS
Moreau will have to miss at least the first four games of the regular season as he works his way back from an offseason knee procedure. He also missed all of team activities during the spring and summer. The same is true of Taysom Hill (knee), who the Saints also placed on the reserve/PUP list Tuesday, leaving Juwan Johnson with little competition for targets at tight end.

Moreau caught 21 of 25 targets for 193 yards and one score over 15 games in 2023, marking his fourth time in five seasons that he caught at least 21 passes. The 27-year-old played nearly as many offensive snaps as Juwan Johnson, as the latter missed four contests with injury. Yet the majority of scoring opportunities went to Johnson and Jimmy Graham, who combined for eight touchdowns. Graham re-retired following last season, which once again leaves Moreau as the clear No. 2 option for in-line tight ends behind Johnson, though gadget player Taysom Hill should steal some targets at the position.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Larger role in passing game?
Moreau could see more looks from quarterback Derek Carr during Sunday's game against the Falcons if one or both of Chris Olave or Cedrick Wilson were unable to play due to injury, John Sigler of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Olave and Wilson are listed as questionable for Sunday's game due to hamstring and ankle injuries, respectively, but Sigler relays that Wilson is less likely to suit up. Moreau has established himself as the Saints' top tight end ahead of Juwan Johnson, and even with Taysom Hill returning from a one-game absence, Moreau's 6-foot-4 frame should give the Falcons' defense some issues, especially in the red zone. Moreau's best outing of the season came in Week 1 against the Panthers, when he caught all four of his passes for 43 yards and one touchdown.
