After spending his entire 2022 rookie campaign on the Jaguars' practice squad, Austin made his NFL debut with New Orleans in Week 10 last year. The undrafted product out of Notre Dame played in the Saints' final eight games when their receiving corps was decimated by injuries. He finished with 11 catches for 151 yards and played over 50 percent of offensive snaps in all but one of his appearances. Austin went unsigned during the 2023 campaign after spending the previous season as a member of the Jaguars' practice squad. The 24-year-old's best chance to carve out a spot in New Orleans will once again come on the practice squad.
Austin joined Jacksonville as an undrafted free agent out of Notre Dame in May of 2022 and spent the entirety of last season on the practice squad. Starting the season on the practice squad is likely a best-case scenario for the 23-year-old again in 2023.

Austin was signed to the Saints' active roster Saturday, and the 24-year-old has an opportunity to emerge as New Orleans' No. 2 wideout behind Marquez Valdes-Scantling for the rest of the 2024 regular season, Ross Jackson of WWL Louisiana reports.
ANALYSIS
Austin was unable to make the Saints' 53-man roster at the end of training camp, but he opted to stick around on the practice squad. He wasn't elevated to the active roster until Week 10 against the Falcons, but he ended up playing in three straight games due to injuries to Bub Means and Chris Olave, and over that span Austin accumulated six catches on seven targets for 85 yards. Austin played a season-high 43 offensive snaps in Week 13 against the Rams, and he should continue to see that kind of usage moving forward while playing alongside Valdes-Scantling and Cedrick Wilson.
