Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Bolton has rebounded nicely from his injury-riddled 2023 campaign, as he suited up for 16 regular-season contests in 2024 and racked up 106 tackles (73 total), including 3.0 sacks, plus six pass breakups, including one interception, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. That marks the third time in four seasons Bolton has tallied triple-digit stops, though it didn't approach the career-high 180 total tackles put up in 2022. Bolton may not approach that production level again, but after inking a three-year, $45 million deal to stick with Kansas City, he's a strong candidate to consistently reach the 100-tackle mark as long as he stays healthy. Logs eight tackles against Bolts
Bolton collected eight tackles (six solo) during the Chiefs' 27-21 loss to the Chargers on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Bolton had a nice start to the 2025 season Friday with eight takedowns, second-most on the Chiefs behind Chamarri Conner (10). Bolton has accrued at least 100 total tackles in three of four NFL seasons, and he had just 60 in 2023 after missing nine games due to injury. The 2021 second-rounder is an every-down linebacker and is an integral piece to the Chiefs' defense. Bolton and the Chiefs' defense will have their hands full in Week 2 when they welcome the Eagles on Sunday, Sept. 14 in a rematch of Super Bowl LIX.

How do Nick Bolton's measurables compare to other linebackers?
This section compares his draft workout metrics with players at the same position. The bar represents the player's percentile rank. For example, if the bar is halfway across, then the player falls into the 50th percentile for that metric and it would be considered average.
* All metrics are from his Pro Day (not the combine).

Bolton endured a frustrating 2023 season, as he missed three games with an ankle injury from Weeks 3-5. He returned for two contests, only to suffer a dislocated wrist that required surgery and forced him to remain on the sidelines until Week 14. Even when healthy, Bolton saw his role decrease on a per-game basis. In 2022, he played 100 percent of defensive snaps in 13 games, but he failed to do so until the AFC Championship Game last season. The departure of Willie Gay has the potential to benefit Bolton in that regard heading into 2024, though we've still likely seen his peak level of production in 2022 when he tallied 180 total tackles. While it's safe to suggest he's slipped a bit in terms of projected production relative to his peers, Bolton should remain an elite IDP option so long as he can remain healthy.

Might get contract extension
Bolton could be signed to a contract extension before the start of the regular season, Nate Taylor of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The linebacker is headed into the final year of his rookie contract after being selected in the second round of the 2021 Draft out of Missouri. Bolton has been a tackling machine in the middle of the Kansas City defense, and while injuries limited him to eight regular-season games in 2023, he still racked up 60 tackles, one year after finishing second in the NFL with 180 stops. With kicker Harrison Butker having received an extension Monday, Bolton could be the next core member of the Super Bowl champs to get a big payday.
