Rest-of-Season Projections
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Smith didn't have a major role as a rookie after being drafted 30th overall in 2023, but he stepped up in his second season to start 10 games. He finished second on the Eagles with 6.5 sacks (plus four more in the playoffs) and eighth on the team with 42 tackles. He tore his triceps during the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX win and underwent surgery, but he's recovered and lines up to be one of the team's top edge rushers again in 2025. Read Past Outlooks
Sees big snap share Thursday
Smith recorded four tackles (one solo) during Thursday's 24-20 win versus the Cowboys.
ANALYSIS
Smith didn't exactly stuff the stat sheet in Week 1, but he played 52 of Philadelphia's 61 defensive snaps Thursday, a promising indicator for the rest of the season. He showed flashes of double-digit sack potential in 2024, and he'll be looking for his first of 2025 against a pass-first Kansas City team in Week 2.

Smith looked like a potential top-10 pick in the 2023 Draft but fell all the way to pick No. 30, where the Eagles snapped him up to join their group of young Georgia defenders. His 4.39 speed is his calling card, but it does come with small size, as he checks in at 6-2, 238 pounds. Smith didn't post elite sack numbers in college, topping out at 4.5 as a junior, and his unique profile makes him hard to project. That said, he has the makings of an NFL edge rusher and will have a great example to learn from in teammate Haason Reddick.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could make notable impact as rookie
Smith is identified by Brendan Walker of NFL.com as a rookie that will have both short- and long-term impact in the Eagles defense.
ANALYSIS
Smith was nabbed by the Eagles with the 30th overall pick in April's draft after a standout career at Georgia that included 20 tackles for loss, 12.5 of which counted as sacks, across 38 games. The athletic edge rusher is likely to start his pro career behind accomplished veteran Haason Reddick, but Walker envisions Smith getting a fair share of opportunities to show off his pass-rushing acumen as a rookie before potentially moving into a starting role in his second season.
