2025 Fantasy Outlook
A bruising running back out of Clemson, Mafah was selected in the seventh round of the 2025 Draft. While he has the size to be a goal-line weapon, Mafah's lack of vision and elusiveness limit him to the yardage his blocking scheme provides for him. That could still allow him to fill a needed niche in the Dallas backfield, however, in a committee with retreads Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders, holdover Deuce Vaughn and fellow rookie Jayden Blue. The Cowboys placed Mafah (shoulder) on injured reserve Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Mafah suffered a shoulder injury during the preseason finale and will now be sidelined for a minimum of the first four games of the regular season. He'll likely be buried on the depth chart when he returns, but the Cowboys' running back situation is quite uncertain entering the season.

Could be part of committee
RBDallas Cowboys
May 6, 2025
Mafah could work his way into a committee in the Cowboys' backfield to begin the season, Saad Yusuf of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Mafah was selected in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft out of Clemson, meaning he already faces a tough road to earning a roster spot. However, the Cowboys don't have a clear workhorse back on their roster and are willing to head into the regular season with a committee if none of Javonte Williams, Miles Sanders or Jaydon Blue seizes the top job. Mafah weighed in at 234 pounds at the combine, giving him a unique profile relative to the rest of the backfield that could help him carve out a short-yardage role initially.
