2025 Fantasy Outlook
Cubas continued to be the rock in the center of the park in Vancouver, playing 2,288 minutes in 2024 and starting 27 times. Those are in line with his totals from 2023 when he first took on a full-time starting role for the Whitecaps. Any hopes of him developing playmaking upside seem to have passed, but he is a rock-solid central midfielder and has the ability to pile on defensive contributions. In 2024, he set a bevy of career highs including 86 tackles and 25 clearances, while also committing 20 fewer fouls than he did in 2023. He will remain a solid defensive option for the Whitecaps in 2025.

Set for suspension
Cubas will serve one-match ban due to an accumulation of yellow cards, according to the league.
ANALYSIS
Cubas has accumulate too much yellow cards in the MLS and will be suspended for next Saturday's game against Philadelphia. His absence will impact the starting squad since he has been an undisputed starter for Vancouver, with J.C. Ngando likely getting a larger role in the midfield for that game.
