Ito is continuing his progression from a foot injury after being spotted running on grass on Monday. The Japanese defender suffered a heavy setback to the same injury when attempting a return in March and has since struggled to recover fully. Ito will likely miss additional time but his absence does not impact the starting XI since the central defensive pair is expected to remain Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah moving forward.
