Following back surgery the prior season, Kahlina started all 37 games for Charlotte in 2024, including the postseason. He kept 12 regular season clean sheets, which led the league, while allowing just 37 goals, the second-best mark in the league. It will be hard for him to improve on his 2024 Goalkeeper of the Season campaign, though it's not impossible with the same back line returning for 2025 in addition to a full offseason for manager Dean Smith.
