Nascimento (groin) is nearing a return and was hopeful for this weekend but ultimately missed the MLS game against Colorado and the Leagues Cup semifinal against Seattle, coach Greg Vanney said in a press conference. "Based on the timeline we were given, it was hopeful for this weekend, but we'll see what he can accomplish over the next few days."

Nascimento is close to returning from his groin injury but the games against Colorado in MLS and Seattle in the Leagues Cup came too early for him. The forward will be assessed in the coming days to determine his progress, although the game against Houston on Sept. 6 seems a bit far and will give him more time to recover. That said, if he has to miss more time, Miguel Berry will likely get a larger role in the frontline for the Galaxy.
