Signs pre-contract agreement
Dowman has signed a pre-contract agreement with Arsenal that will lead to him signing professional terms when he turns 17 in December, the club announced. Dowman remains out due to an ankle injury but is getting closer to return, coach Mikel Arteta said in the press conference. "I think he's quite close. He's on the pitch now, he's doing well and hopefully we're going to be able to see him soon."

Dowman suffered an ankle injury in Saturday's match with the U21s, according to his club. "Unfortunately, Max [Dowman] picked up an injury last weekend and had to come off. So he did some scans and he is going to be out for weeks."
